This person forgot to list a few things.

FIrst of all TexASS has one of the highest PROPERTY taxes in the entire country.

Secondly, the pay in TexASS is significanty lower than in CA, in fact the minimum wage in TexASS is less than half of that in CA.

CA costs more because the jobs PAY MORE. It's simple economics.

Plus the weather in CA is a million times better than the hot as hell summers with 100 plus degree summers for months and freezing weather in the winter.

Also, Houston/East TexASS gets tons of hurricanes and Dallas/North TexASS gets tons of tornadoes, FACT

Great video! One thing I will say that I’ve experienced since moving to Texas from California in 2017. I’ve seen some people from Texas talk crap about Californians without provoking them. Saying how Californians are ruining Texas. I’m one of the nicest guys you wanna meet from California. But it bothers me when there are problems, it’s “must be the Californians” blaming I hate. I’m not rich. I bought my first house here with little money. I have no intentions of ruining Texas. I just want to live a simple life, enjoy my home and where I live. I don’t talk crap about Texas, so please don’t talk crap about California lol. I miss California, but the cost of living was hell I agree with you. Anyways, it’s all good. I let it go.

I am sorry, but most of these newcomers have ruined Texas. I am a native 3rd or 4th generation. The culture in The Lone Star State is not the same. The streets and highways are crowded, There is garbage and litter everywhere. The parks are crowded with long lines and now noisy. Our once beautiful landscape is now carved up with development with strip malls and tract homes. The wildlife is being pushed out. Animals such as coyotes, foxes, raccoons and many species of birds and snakes now are dying because they have nowhere to go. The beautiful woods and forests they inhabited are no more. The people are pushy and rude and money is king. I really wish all of the development would stop. I was born here and remember what life used to be like. I wish people would quit promoting Texas. We really don't need any more people. But I guess my small voice is only thing now.

I've not been to that particular beach, but Surfside Texas was a blast. We were able to drive our car onto the beach. Try doing that in Dago, without going to jail. 😉
The water was SO warm. Although I did find it weird that when we got to our hotel, everything was on stilts. From Surfside all the way to Galveston. Oh another weird thing. The store at the hotel didn't have sunscreen, but sold a grip of mosquito repellent 😳 and when the sun started to go down, we realized why. Like the old saying goes, EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas. And that goes for their insects. Holy guacamole those things were crazy sauce.

Your cost of moving OUT of Ca is what raised your cost of moving. Cali costs. Going in and ESPECIALLY going out.

My wife and I are looking to move to the Austin area (Buda/Kyle), but it's definitely not an easy move. We live in (way) Northern California (Redding/Chico area). I've wanted to move to Texas ever since I first visited Austin 15 years ago. What you spoke about in the beginning about wanting to rent for a year and then buy really hit home. We'd love to do that, but rent would be double what our mortgage is right now here in CA. We'd prefer Buda, but if we're going to buy a home and move, then Kyle makes more sense with their lower housing costs.

Anyway, we've been researching the move seriously for about a year now, and I've watched a lot of your vids. They've been very helpful. Thanks! It's much appreciated, sir.

Don't bring your Commie politics, Progressive Crap, or SJW philosophies to Texas, or anywhere else. Things like debating In-and-out vs. Whataburger is just good fun.

The beaches are amazing in O’ahu but I’m looking to someday relocate. How’s the bug situation? It gets warm in Honolulu too-90-95 with 50-60% humidity and cools off for a few weeks in winter. No ice no snow

You're a Texan now. YeeHaw! Lol You put in 8 good years and I can tell you've enjoy it. It's a very special place to call home. My mother moved us to California as kids because of my dad's job and we only lasted a year. Weather is great in CA but people are not the same like you explained. Missed the motherland a lot. We all moved back in 2001 and haven't left since. I wouldn't ever rule out living somewhere else, but when my life is all done, I want to die in Texas. It's where my soul belongs.

Austin has one of the best grocery store chains of all time and that's H-E-B. In Dallas, the nearest H-E-B store is far south of Dallas and between Dallas and Waco. While in Houston, there's a little bit more than H-E-B stores than in Dallas but it's only in certain parts of Houston and while in Austin and San Antonio, there's an H-E-B store at every corner. H-E-B is a San Antonio based company grocery store. Nothing beats H-E-B and that's one of the best things about Austin. I really enjoy the H-E-B vibe. I wonder why they don't have an H-E-B all over Texas. I noticed it's mostly in central and south Texas.
