Underwood's so good it's the best everything so fresh those hot yeast biscuits melt in your mouth everything is so good and the cherry cobbler peach cobbler and such good nice friendly people it's a bit of Heaven in the state of Texas
Growing up in Amarillo, I ate at Underwoods thinking it was the only one. Now I know it was the one and only of its kind even with other locations. Sad to learn they closed in Amarillo. If you compare barbeque types you could certainly prefer others but Underwoods is incomparable, being one of a kind. Basically, it's number one in its field because its the only one in its field. Long live the independent restaurants in America and heip what's left because they're fading fast. That brings into question whether the new generation has the good taste and sensibility to keep it going. If not it will be their loss, not our's who came before.
They had restaurant in Waco for a while and my family ate there often! I miss how good the food is!!! And the peach cobbler was by far the best I've ever had… Good memories.
When I was a little kid there was an Underwoods in Odessa my dad would take our family there every Friday it was so delicious… we just moved back to Texas and one of the first places we ate at in Brownwood was Underwoods…. it's still delicious…
Lived in Brownwood for over 30 years. 20 years literally within walking distance of my current home.I won't eat there EVERI've fixed to much of their super nasty, gross, filthy, kitchen equipment.I genuinely hope I'm mistaken. But personally won't eat there even when some else is offering to pay. Those project images are permanently "branded" in my brain now.

Underwood's is the best ever, except for my dads 😆 because we get to drink three or four beers before dads is done
Underwood's is okay, if you're hungry but most of their sides come from cans so just stick to the rolls and bbq. oh and the cobbler is to die for!
The fried chicken is the best thing on menu
Woah woah woah! How did you not cover the cobbler?! Lol that is one of the main draws of underwoods!
9999 stars 🌟
My favorite 🍖 spot in Brownwood on the way to Austin
I loved to eat at Underwood’s in Amarillo. Great food and I loved their beans, and everything else, but nobody made beans like Underwood’s.
