Yeah, I grew up in Texas. To kill those roaches you gotta stomp down and twist until you hear a cracking sound. If you lift your foot before you hear the cracking, the roach will start to run.
I ve met roaches in South Africa.Big as a grown Man thumb. I wasnt bothered with them under my blanket in my bed, but once one was running up my skirt as I tried to catch it…THAT had me jumping!

While in Biloxi Mississippi in 1975, I came home to find my wife cowering in the kitchen and the house wreaking of Raid bug spray. A huge roach had frightened her and she used an entire can of raid on it as it scurried along the floor winding up under the couch. 6 hours after that I come home and move the couch and the darn thing is still running around. She refused to go back into the house so we had to relocate.
I live inTexas..the big tree roaches fly in when you open a door or window and you don't even see them fly in.
I have three cats..I don't have roaches..they hunt them down and then play with them..they give the roach a heart attack, and it dies.
If you can live with a cat..invest in one or two..mine are inside critter hunters..
I find their dead carcasses..and flush them down the toilet.
I have two big dogs that know what the cats are doing and just sit there watching them terrorize the roach..
I think they think it's funny..
Texas has roaches..you just have to live with that fact..

I used to live in a northern state and the "roaches" we got were these little "box beetles". A big one was maybe……half an inch long? I moved to Texas for work. I go to take a piss in my apartment. MOTHER. FUCKING. 3-INCH ROACH. STARING BACK AT ME. FROM THE SHOWER. I had just started to unpack my shit, and luckily I had a vacuum with me. I grabbed the hose and managed to get the roach into the vacuum. IT SOUNDED LIKE A CHAINSAW RIPPING INTO A TREE. Honestly amazed the vacuum didn't break. Next time I saw one, I caught it with an empty box and threw it outside off my balcony on the second floor. Motherfucker was waiting for me when I went to get my mail. And he held a grudge!

I play a game called Smalland where you are a very tiny person. There is the usual sorts of enemies like ants, bees, wasps and spiders. But the worst thing, hands down, are the cockroaches.

In Florida we call them Palmetto Bugs. I once saw one while visiting my uncle. I stomped on it, my little brother stomped on it. I then dropped a 4lb ashtray from about 5ft up on it. Then I grabbed a paper towel, and picked it up, ran outside and threw it. That bastard hit the wall, hit the ground, then ran off.
They're that big in Florida and they fly at you
