10 Cheapest towns to live in Texas
Welcome back everyone let’s talk about Texas and where the cheapest place to live might be. Texas has become a hot spot for inward migration for some years now. If you are one of the people thinking about calling a realtor and a moving company. Maybe this video will help you find your new home.
The cheap places in Texas are going to be out of the way small towns. You won’t find Houston, Dallas, or Austin on the list. Enjoy
If you enjoy these videos I would love to hear about it. Most of these videos are made to help people who are thinking about relocating, looking for real estate, or just wanting to learn about the United States. We look at the best and worst cities, states, towns, and neighborhoods in the United States. But, most of the time focus on the negative side of locations. If you only want some happy positive information about a city, town, or state, I would suggest looking up local mortgage and real estate companies or maybe the locations website. They are trying to sell you something so it will be nothing but sunshine, rainbows, and a bunch of smoke up your skirt. They won’t tell you about crime, poverty, bail bondsmen, or insurance you’ll need because of natural disasters. I will. And I will try and make it entertaining.

#2 — How can you report on Brackettville without mentioning Old Fort Clark and the retirement community there?
How can you report on Brackettville without mentioning that it has the third biggest swimming pool in Texas?
Also, how can you report on Brackettville without mentioning that John Wayne's Alamo movie was filmed there?
#6 — So, two primary features of the town are: 1) the historic oak tree
and 2) the statue of Davy Crockett.
If those are the highlights, why did you avoid showing pictures of them?
#6 — Where did you get your pronunciation of this place?
I've talked to folks from this town. I think that they would be laughing at you.
The "Texas Almanac" shows it as: Ozona — o ZO nuh.
To practice a bit, say Ohio. Notice how much stress is put on the middle syllable.
Then say Ozone, like the layer of the armosphere.
Now, change the silent e on the end of ozone to "uh."
That makes o ZO nuh.
It rhymes with Arizona.
This lifelong Texan likes boring, it works.
I lived in Del Rio off and on for over 20 years; stationed at Laughlin 3 separate times. It’s what you make of it; loved Lake Amistad. And absolutely love the natives of Del Rio. San Antonio is a 3 hr dive if ya want the big city; nice week end trip. Suggest you buy a motorcycle and go touring south/west Tx. It’s a blast.
The crime rate in a couple of these towns and cities are much higher than you are reporting.
There is a lot of crime in a ciuple of the towns/cities you mentioned. Please don't sugar this.
Amarillo is the best place to live in Texas.
If you like rain and cold move to England, you will be vaccinated from it in no time…lolololol
Why?????? It’s Texas.
This guy has no clue. He probably sitting there on his computer looking on zillow. If you have to keep on saying it is safe usually means its not that safe.
Where the hell is hebronville
Be nice to show city on a map of Texas to get an idea of location without having to do research
I spent four years attending college in Plainview and that's four years of my life I will never get back. Most boring place on Earth and there's a reason it's called "Plain" view.
Wow Texass what a shthole.
Pampa is a meth town
Been in Texas 36 years of my life, being a single father in this state is a really shitty existence. The state officials seem to hate single fathers which, in turn, fucks up all of our kids because we're so depressed. Greg Abbott is a liberal
I live about 35 miles south of Pampa and it gets really cold in the winter. 0 and below some times with 30 to 65 mph winds. If you have never spent a winter in the panhandle then you don’t really know how cold it can get.
Can you update this Video please 🙏
You're not going to get cold in Pampa, Tx? Really?
Do one on best small farming communities in Texas.
Why do people from out of state, that have never lived here, put a list together like this? There were so many things said in this video that are just not true. I moved from west Texas to north Texas because the west has no water, few trees, very flat, too religious, and lots of blowing sand in the spring. I would not recommend any person to move there. That is why the houses are so cheap. I am a small town girl but I would never live in Plainview on purpose. I graduate HS not far from there, Spade, TX, and have never understood the people who chose to live there. PLus, I don't want any more people moving here until they work on the infrastructure before building more houses. I love Texas for the open spaces but with so many businesses and people moving here now, we won't have those open spaces for long.
Korea Samsung chose Tyler, Texas to set up their facotries, there. Koreans love Texas, so we even have the Texas Street in Busan..
Taxes on homes are double what they are here in southeast Washington State,
Jimmy Dean was a musician, before the sausage
The city of Texas
Plainview is not really in the Panhandle of Texas as defined by locals. It is in the South Plains like Lubbock. The Panhandle of Texas is the top 26 counties or roughly down to the EASTERN edge of the top of Texas. Just Sayin’
I want to buy land like Texas betweennm like Raton
And in Del Rio Texas we have the most cleanest water in texas
😂😂😂 I live in Olney… you are right…. Boring with a capital B, but the quiet is the main reason I moved here.
I’m a Texan and this….is….really pathetic. I truly mean no disrespect to the residents of these places, but I’m reminded of the Army general who once said, “If I owned Texas and Hell, I’d rent out Texas and live in Hell.” Even if you’re a drug dealer hiding out from El Hefe, it’s no good. Everyone in town will know your bizness three days after you arrive.
Sixth generation Texan here and there's a reason the towns on your list are so cheap to live in and that's because no one wants to move to them. My husband and sister-in-law are both from the Texas Valley and crime is an issue and the border is chaotic. Family still lives there. They just don't show on the news. The area you showed upper northwest Texas has dust storms. Every year Texas spends almost 900 MILLION on illegal immigrants' healthcare, education, and housing.
I am curious what the current comments would be now (Feb 2023).
Presidio, I have cousins there, visited about 5 yrs ago. My grandpa born in shafter, worked in marga in the 1900’s.
Elsa and La Villa are less than 10 miles away. Edcouch about 7 miles. Elsa has a Wal-Mart. Good for the Delta area.
